How to start
- Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
- The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
- Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.
One field across both phones
Put the two phones flat, top edges touching, one facing each of you. Each shows its own part of one field, flush with the seam, and a snake crosses it without a pause. When your snake is on the other phone, an arrow in your colour at the edge of your screen points to its head. No second phone? Two players can share one, a joystick each.
Swipe anywhere on your own screen to steer. Directions belong to the table, not to the screen your snake is on: swipe toward the top of your phone and your snake heads that way, even while it is crossing your friend's.
How a round is won
Both snakes start four cells long, heads at least eight cells apart, so neither of you dies in the first second. Pellets add two cells. Running into a wall, the border or a body puts you out, and if the two heads meet, the longer snake survives; equal lengths, both are out.
After a while the border closes in a ring at a time, so a careful game still ends: on Fast it starts 40 seconds into a round, with a ring every second and a half. Win two rounds of three and the match is yours; pick one round or five in the lobby instead. A third player? The 3 player snake game widens the field to three screens.
Power-ups and a friend far away
Power-ups appear every few seconds: Dash makes you faster for 4 seconds, Ghost lets you slip through bodies for 4, and Shrink takes a third off your rival's length at once. Turn them off for a plain duel.
A friend who isn't in the room can still play. They join with the table's link or code, and their phone shows the whole field, turned to them, while the phones in the room stay one board. The other 2 player games on different phones work the same way, from air hockey to chess.
2 players: questions and answers
Does a snake cross onto the other phone?
Yes, it carries straight on across the seam, and an arrow at your edge shows where it went.
Is it best of 3?
Yes, by default: the first to win two rounds takes the match.
Does the longer snake win head-on?
Yes, the longer snake survives, and equal snakes are both out.
Can a friend play from another place?
Yes, they join with the table's link or code, and their device then shows the whole field.
