What is Snake?
A neon snake game for the whole table. Every player steers their own snake from their own phone or tablet, and the field runs across all of them: a snake leaves one screen and carries straight on onto the next.
Your snake's head is your face at the table: your critter, or your photo when you're signed in.
How it plays
Swipe anywhere on your screen in the direction you want to go. The direction is the table's, wherever your snake is: swipe toward the top of your screen and your snake heads that way, even on someone else's screen.
Pellets make you longer. Running into a wall, the border or any snake's body puts you out, and your snake turns into pellets for the others. Head to head, the longer snake survives.
Three power-ups: Dash (faster for a few seconds), Ghost (slip through bodies) and Shrink (every rival loses a third of their length).
After a while the border starts closing in, a ring at a time, so every round ends. The last snake in takes the round; best of 3 by default.
What you need
2 to 4 devices for one big board, one player each: phones and tablets, mixed. A device can also play alone against bots, or two players can share a tablet.
Mirrored puts the whole field on every device instead, so it doesn't matter where they lie.
Ways to play
- One big board
- The default with friends. The devices together are the field, and snakes cross from screen to screen.
- Mirrored
- Every device shows the whole field. Lay them anywhere.
- Against bots
- One device: you, or two of you on a tablet, against up to five bots.
- Classic
- One snake, no rivals: grow as long as you can and beat your best.
Why it's fun at a table
The table is the arena: you watch your snake leave your screen and come out on a friend's, right in front of them.
Rounds are short and loud. Cut someone off, grab Shrink at the right moment, and the round turns.
Snake: questions and answers
When is Snake coming out?
There's no release date yet. Until then, the games at the bottom of this page play on the same phones and tablets today.
How do you steer?
Swipe anywhere on your own screen in the direction you want your snake to go. A turn fires mid-swipe, so one stroke can turn twice.
Can I play alone?
Yes: on one device against bots, or in Classic, one snake alone. Two players can also share one tablet, each steering on their half.
Will it be free?
Yes. Like every game on BIGBOARD.GAMES, it plays in the browser, with no app.
