Free 2 player games on different phones and tablets

These free 2 player games play on different phones: each player has their own screen, and the two lie edge to edge as one board, so a puck, a potato or a chess piece crosses from one to the other. Everything runs in the browser, with no app.

Two screens, one board

In every game here, each player holds or faces their own device, and the game treats the two screens as one surface. Where the edges touch, play carries on: an air hockey puck crosses at the speed you hit it, a snake keeps its line, a chess move slides from your half onto your friend's. Phones, tablets or one of each all work, iPhone and Android together.

Islands, the dots game, and Spillover, a drawing duel, are made for exactly two. In Islands each phone shows the whole sheet, so the phones can lie anywhere; Spillover needs them edge to edge, because the shapes fall from one well into the other.

Head to head, or on the same side

Most of these are duels: first to a score in Air Hockey, the last one with fuse left in Hot Potato, the last snake in, a tug bar in Whack-a-Mole, a king in Chess. Tilt Run is the exception. It is co-op: one marble, one maze across both screens, and you win or lose together.

If you're sitting at one table, a phone each is the full experience: you each get a screen of your own and the whole board between you. If one of you has no phone, each of these games also has a one-device version that puts both players on a single screen.

Starting a game for two

Open bigboard.games on both phones, tap Start a table on one, and the other joins by itself on the same Wi-Fi, or with the QR code or the four-letter code elsewhere. Lay the phones edge to edge and pick a game from the list. When it ends, Rematch plays it again at the same table, or pick another game without starting over.

Questions

Does every game here play on two phones?

Yes, every game on this page plays with two devices, one per player: two phones, two tablets or one of each.

Do these games also play on one phone?

Yes, each also plays with two people sharing one screen; Spillover needs a tablet for that.

Can a friend play from another place?

Yes, send them the table's link or its four-letter code, and they join from their own phone wherever they are.

Can the computer be the second player?

Yes, in every game here except Spillover: add a bot and it takes the empty seat.
