How to start

  1. Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
  2. The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
  3. Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.

A row of three screens

Stand the three devices upright, side by side, bottom edges in line, with everyone sitting along the same side of the table. Together they make one wide field, and a snake runs from one screen to the next without a pause. Phones and tablets mix; with a phone in the row, the field is drawn smaller on every screen. With a fourth device, 4 player snake lays the screens in a 2 × 2 block.

Each of you steers by swiping on your own screen. When your snake wanders onto a neighbour's, an arrow in your colour at your screen's edge points the way to its head. Pick a speed for the table: Fast, Normal or Relaxed.

Three snakes, one survivor

With three, every move counts twice. Cut one rival off and the other gets room; knock someone out and their body turns into pellets, every other cell of it, for whoever gets there first. Shrink is worth more too: take it and both rivals lose a third of their length at once.

The border closes in a ring at a time until one snake is left, or set it to Later or Off; with it off, a round still ends at 10 minutes. The match goes to the first to win two rounds. The end card shows the rounds won, the longest snake and who knocked out the most.

Two friends and a bot

Only two of you? Add a bot as the third snake. It needs no screen of its own: it runs inside the game on every device, in its own colour and face, and plays to win.

If a device leaves mid-match, the rest can play on without it: its snake is out and its screen leaves the field, at the same moment on every device. For other games three can play, see the 4 player and 3 player games.
