Tower Defense

Free 3 player tower defense: one road, three screens

BIGBOARD.GAMES's 3 player tower defense is free in the browser and played in the same room: three phones or tablets in a row become one map, and the road winds through all of them to a lantern the three of you hold together, each from a ground of your own.

How to start

  1. Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
  2. The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
  3. Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.

Out and back through three screens

Lay the three devices end to end, one player at each. The road leaves a gatehouse on the first screen, runs out along one side of every screen, loops on the last and comes back along the other side to the lantern on the first. Each seam carries it twice, with a free cell between the two passes, and the tunnels under the bezels hide every bug inside them from every tower.

Your ground grows from your seat and holds an equal share of the road with the other two, within 5 %, so whoever sits by the gate has no more road to hold than whoever sits by the lantern. A tap anywhere on a ground builds for its owner, with their gold and in their colour, and the tower's range shows as a soft disc while its ring is open.

One gate, or one each

The Gates option decides where the bugs come in. One gate, the default, sends every wave down one road; two split each wave between them; One per player gives each of you a gate of your own, its branch laid from the table's edge into the main road in a T. A Swarm pack keeps to one gate, and the boss always takes the first.

Three players also bring more bugs, closer together and tougher, while a wave lasts as long as it would for two. The gold from every kill is split three ways, so call it out when a Swarm slips past your stretch. With a fourth friend, 4 player tower defense lays the screens as a block.

A bot, a friend far away, a dropped device

Only two of you? A bot teammate takes the third seat with a ground, gold and a Hero of its own, at the level you give it. A friend who can't be there joins by link and builds on their ground from a view of the whole field.

If a device drops out, the match pauses on every screen and its seat is held for 10 minutes; when it comes back, it picks up exactly where the others are. The match never shrinks to two, so no stretch of road is left unguarded. More 3 and 4 player games play across phones the same way.

3 players: questions and answers

Can three of us play on two devices?

Yes, two of you share one, each building from their own edge of it.

Can each player have a gate?

Yes, pick One per player in Gates; one gate is the default.

Are the waves bigger for three?

Yes, more bugs, closer together and tougher, while each wave lasts as long.

Can the match go on without a dropped device?

No, it pauses and holds the seat for 10 minutes, so the road is never left unguarded.
