How to start
- Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
- The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
- Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.
Three fields in a T
Lay two devices top edge to top edge, facing each other, and the third across their end, turned to face them. Every screen is one player's field with their fuse in the middle, and the potato crosses wherever two screens touch, so from any field you can reach the other two. Phones and tablets mix, and each screen keeps its words upright for the person in front of it.
Three players change the game. In the two-phone game you only have one place to throw. With three, you choose: the player with the most fuse left, or the one who just threw it at you.
Cooked, but still on the table
When a fuse hits zero, that player is cooked and out, and a fresh potato drops onto another screen. The cooked screen doesn't go dark: its field passes potatoes on, with no friction, steering them toward the nearest way onto a live field.
So the last two keep playing across all three screens, and the one still holding out wins. A cooked player still sees every flick go by, and Rematch brings everyone back for the next round. Four players sit in a cross in the hot potato game for 4.
Power-ups take turns
The live fields take turns getting power-ups, each placed on the line potatoes travel. Ice freezes the fuse on that field for 3 seconds, double trouble drops a second potato on another live field for 8, and a slingshot sends the potato on at full speed.
Two friends and no third? A bot can take the seat. Added at the table, it sits at the edge of the field with a zone of its own, holds the potato a moment and flicks it at whoever has the most fuse left.
3 players: questions and answers
Is it last one standing?
Yes, the match goes on until one player's fuse is the only one left.
Does a cooked phone still pass the potato on?
Yes, its field slides potatoes on toward a live field.
Can a bot be the third player?
Yes, it sits at the table's edge, with a zone of its own on the screen there.
Do power-ups need a tap?
No, the potato has to roll over one; tapping does nothing.
