How to start
- Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
- The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
- Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.
A teammate, not an opponent
In this co-op tower defense a bot plays on your side. It is a player like any other: it gets a ground grown from its seat, its share of the gold, a Hero, and the bigger waves a player brings, so a bot adds to the attack as well as to the defence. Its ground is its own, so no ring opens there for you.
Every device runs the bots alike, inside the shared simulation, so a bot needs no screen of its own. On its turn it makes at most one move: it keeps a few towers and adds one every few waves from a mix of Bolts, Mortars and Frosts, each on its free cell that covers the most road, then saves for its Hero, then levels its lowest tower, picking a branch at level 3.
Four levels
A bot's level is its own, apart from the match's Difficulty. An Easy bot builds late and slowly, spends a third of what it earns and saves its Hero's skills for the boss. Medium spends half. Hard spends everything and aims its Strike and Net ahead, where the bugs will be when the shell lands. Impossible plays as Hard but thinks twice as often.
So an Easy bot leaves you most of the work, and an Impossible one holds its stretch of road like a strong player. Mix them at one table, or pair a Hard bot with someone new while they learn the towers.
Alone or at a table
On your own, start a table on one phone or tablet and add a bot: it builds on a ground of its own on your screen, as a second person would in 2 player tower defense. Prefer the whole map to yourself? Single player tower defense has no partner at all.
With friends, Add a bot as you arrange the table and it fills an empty seat, up to four players in all, so two friends and two bots make 4 player tower defense. A cleared wave pays every player alike, bots included, and the end card shows each player's share of the damage, so you can see who held the road.
With bots: questions and answers
Are the bots on my side?
Yes, Tower Defense is co-op, so every bot defends the same lantern as you.
Can I play alone with a bot?
Yes, on one device: you and the bot each build on a ground of your own.
Is there more than one level?
Yes, four: Easy, Medium, Hard and Impossible, set for each bot.
Does a bot make the waves harder?
Yes, it counts as a player, so the waves grow for it as for anyone.
