How to start

  1. Open bigboard.games on one phone or tablet and tap Start a table.
  2. Pick the game; the players at this device are set before the match.
  3. Lay the device flat between you and play.

One screen, two ends

Start a table on one phone or tablet with two people on it and pick Tower Defense. Sit across from each other with the device flat between you: the screen splits into two grounds, one grown from each of your edges, and the road winds between them to the lantern. On a tablet it spirals in to the lantern at the centre; on a phone it mostly walks a lattice of the screen's cells, its shape new with each map.

Nobody waits for a turn. A tap on your ground opens your ring, upright for you, its items on an arc away from your seat, and builds with your own gold, so the two of you can build at the same moment without getting in each other's way. With a phone each, tower defense on two phones gives each of you a whole screen.

Two Heroes on one screen

Each of you can build one Hero, for 120 gold, with two skills: a Strike that blasts a spot and breaks shields, and a Net that pins bugs in place for 3 seconds. Each opens an aim pad, a 40 mm joystick on the glass: drag from its centre to aim, let go to fire. While yours is open, a press on your own ground closes it, but your partner's taps stay theirs, so you can both aim at once.

Gold comes to you both: a kill's gold is split evenly, and a cleared wave pays you alike, so the ground the road reaches first doesn't take it all. The other 2 player games on one phone share a screen too, most of them as rivals; this one puts you on the same side.

A long match, or a bot instead

Pick the match before you start: 15 waves or 30, Relaxed to Blitz, Easy to Impossible. On a shared screen the Gates option offers one gate or two; One per player waits for a table of three or four. When the match ends, the card gives the result, then each player's share of the damage.

On your own after all? Your partner's ground can go to a bot teammate on the same device, or the whole map to you in single player tower defense. When friends arrive with phones, push the devices together and the same game spreads over all of them.
