How to start
- Open bigboard.games on every device and tap Start a table on one of them.
- The others join by themselves on the same Wi-Fi; elsewhere, scan the QR code or type the four-letter code.
- Lay the devices edge to edge, screens up, as the drawing shows, and pick the game.
One court from two screens
Put the two phones flat on the table, top edges touching, one facing each player. Your goal line runs across the far end of your own screen, your paddle just in front of it, and the middle of the court is the seam. A finger anywhere on your side moves your paddle, so your hand never hides the ball. Sharing one phone instead? 2 player paddle tennis on one screen puts a line at each short end.
Two tablets play the same way, and so does a phone facing a tablet. The two goal lines are always the same length, so the player on the bigger screen has no more to defend; where the tablet's edge runs past the phone, that part is rail and the ball bounces off it.
A duel to 5, 7 or 11
A 3-2-1 countdown serves the first ball from the middle of the court, toward one of you; after that, the serve goes to whoever let the last point in. Pick the match in the lobby: Short plays to 5, Standard to 7, Long to 11.
Rallies build on their own. Every hit makes the ball 6 % faster, up to a top speed no paddle can cover its whole line against, so a long exchange always ends. Aim with the curve of your paddle: off its tips it turns the ball the most. Want a third player? 3 player paddle tennis gives everyone lives instead.
Arcade, Classic, and a friend far away
Arcade drops power-ups mid-court, and the one who hit the ball last when it rolls over one gets it. On two phones it lays two blocks to break, each mirrored through the center for fairness; two tablets get 8 to 12. Classic is the plain paddle tennis game, just the ball, the paddles and the lines.
The phones talk to each other directly, smoothest on one Wi-Fi. A friend somewhere else can still play: they join with the table's link or code and take a seat on the edge of the court. Their phone shows the whole court, and they slide their paddle from there.
2 players: questions and answers
Does a phone with a tablet work?
Yes, both lines are the same length, and the rest of the tablet's edge is rail.
Must the two phones share Wi-Fi?
No, but one Wi-Fi is smoothest; elsewhere a secure relay connects them.
Can a friend play from another place?
Yes, they join with the table's link or code, see the whole court on their phone and play their paddle from there.
Can we choose the winning score?
Yes, first to 5, 7 or 11 points, picked before the match.
